If we issued public stock and were forced to maximize profits to satisfy investors we would have no choice but to outsource jobs.  That does not necessarily mean that we would be shipping jobs to India.  The disturbing reality is that the economy is so bad for some Americans that once they complete the on-line medical billing education, for which thousands take out government loans every year, they then bid out their services on-line.  While a medical billing company might contract out for labor from an Indian company, that company might very likely be staffed with Americans pecking away at keyboards on kitchen tables for as little as two dollars an hour.  Are we the Third World yet?

 

When you sign on with AMB, your account will be worked by an Arizona citizen earning a nearly living wage, with employer provided health care.  As owners, we know we could be banking much more money, but we have to live with ourselves and we have drawn a line we will not cross.

 

Do not mistake a declaration of principles with a plea for charity.  Our rates are highly competitive and we think you'll find extra value in working, day after day, with familiar faces who can even afford to employ your services should they be needed.  How do we make up the difference?  Well, no one here is driving an Escalade and our offices are not glamorous.  Decide for yourself which option presents a better value.

 

AMB partners with brick and mortar schools to help bring people into the workforce.  We're not softies and we don't care if not everyone succeeds.  We push people hard and demand excellence.  The best thing about the ongoing employment crisis is that people are willing to push themselves to excel in a way for which they never found the motivation, back in better days.

 

Excellence is not enough to receive a job offer, however.  We also perform extensive background checks, not just for criminal history, but also for civil cases.  A dirty little secret of the white collar world is that few criminals are charged, let alone prosecuted.  Our County Attorney's office does not consider non-violent offenders to be worthy of much attention.  Most employers file civil suits and settle for a fraction of the loss.  Take this as a free tip:  if an applicant has a history of skipping from job to job, find out how many times she's been sued.  While records might be sealed, you can still do phone research.  Ask to speak directly to the owner; I guarantee they'll be happy to share the story, assuming they didn't sign a non-disclosure agreement in order to recover fifteen cents on the dollar.

 

You should give the same degree of scrutiny to any kitchen table start up that offers a great rate.  You are giving any biller who handles your work an opportunity to commit fraud in your name, without your awareness.  You are also offering up crucial demographic information that leaves your patients vulnerable to ID theft and worse.  AMB is bonded and fully insured.  We have a physical office and a long history with dozens of satisfied clients.
